Couch Oil Cares (COC) Scholarship
Representatives from Couch Oil Company, the Durham Bulls Baseball Club, former scholarship recipients and other community leaders shall serve on the Couch Oil Cares (COC) Scholarship Selection Committee.
Eligibility
-Current High School Seniors from Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Nash, Wilson, Alamance, Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Person, and Caswell Counties.
-Applicant must have been accepted to and registered at either a four-year or community college for the fall of 2016.
Deadline
Applications must be postmarked by July 15, 2016. Click here for application.
Granting Scholarships
Couch Oil Company will award four (4) scholarships of $1,000 each, for one year only. The scholarships will be paid directly to the school in one installment after proof of acceptance and registration is received.
Required Documents
-application (including essay), transcript, letter of recommendation, college acceptance letter, other supportive documents that enhance the applications, resume of significant honors, achievements
Interview
If deemed a finalist, the applicant must be available for an interview with the Scholarship Committee in July 2016.

Scholarship Opportunity
Eligibility
-Must be FEMALE
-Remain a full-time student in good standing academically.
-Maintain a 2.0 or above for each semester to receive the scholarship award.
-Maintain high standards of citizenship and conduct
-Must use the scholarship during consecutive undergraduate years unless the Junior Guild Board of Directors grants an exception.
-A certified copy of grades must be submitted each semester and renewal request submitted each year to continue to receive the scholarship.
How to apply

1. Most recent high school transcript
2. SAT/ACT Scores
3. Photograph of Applicant
4. Three letters of reference (at least one form a teacher, principal, or counselor, and one from outside the student's school experience)
5. An original, typed essay of at least 350 words describing where the applicant would like to be and what the applicant would like to be doing ten years form now.
6. One (or all) of the following: (a) Financial Aid Form (b) Family Financial Statement (c) Last year's Federal Tax Records.
