Applying to College - Month by Month - Summer/August

Summer/August        

·        Register for the September/October ACT/SAT if applicable (www.actstudent.org http://sat.collegeboard.org/home ). Send your scores to your Colleges/Universities GET ON IT! __

·        Come up with a preliminary list of colleges that interest you __

·        Explore the websites of the colleges that interest you to learn about admissions requirements __

·        Check your senior year class schedule to make sure you are taking the right English, Math, Social Studies, Science and Foreign Language classes you will need for HS Graduation __

·        Update your profile on the College Foundation of North Carolina website (www.cfnc.org) On  this website you can send North Carolina colleges an application and transcripts __

·        Begin thinking about potential topics for your personal essay __

·        Visit college campuses and interview with college admissions representatives  __
