  4. I read How to Make College Worth The Cost and the one thing I took away from that article was that there are 4,000 colleges and universities in th United States alone and I'm bound to find one that I fit in. I also read Internships: Set Yourself Apart and I learned that a college degree is no longer a guarantee for a job and that getting an internship not only sets you apart but also helps you choose a career path you will love.

  7. In the pamphlet thingy, I read "How to Make College Worth the Cost" and learned that you have to reserve a LOT of time applying to as many scholarships/ scholarship opportunities as you can possibly find. Also, there were ways to keep your relationships at home nice and healthy while you are away at college. Being away from your friends and family for so long can be stressful. It's helpful to know there are ways to handle the stress and keep everything level.

  8. From the Internships article, I learned that because most high school graduates go off to school and receive a bachelor's degree, young adults experience more competitiveness and can't find jobs. The youth unemployment rate doubles as high as the overall unemployment rate. This suggests that you take part in internships which notifies the employer that you want to do this job and that you have already accommodated basic knowledge for that job. From College Rankings.... I learned that colleges do take into consideration on your rankings but the truth is more of the focus is the experience. Just because it is a "big" school doesn't mean that you will be successful in life. They also noted that most colleges admit more than they deny. Which makes me feel somewhat better.

  10. I learned tips on keeping relationships strong and healthy at home with your friends and family while you're away at college. This is important to me because I really value my relationships and want to do anything I can to keep them strong while I am away. I also learned about how to make the costs of college count. This reminded me to set aside lots of time to research and apply to the many different scholarships I am eligible for.

  12. (1)From what I read, I found out that there are some universities that are not requiring the submission of standardized test scores after a certain point in the application timeline. Apparently, more and more universities are adopting this, which is causing their competitiveness to rise. (2)This policy will also be researched for two years to test its effectiveness.

  13. I learned a lot of things about preparing for what college has to offer and also tips on how to stay on top of things as you go through the process of applying. There was some good information about financial aid and some budgeting tips. The questions asked in the "Top 10 Campus Visit Questions (and Then Some!)" article also enlightened me on a few things. I see it is very important to research colleges before applying and also the majors they offer. Even the article "Maintaining Healthy Relationships in College" was full of tips on how to maintain relationships with family and the people around you.

  14. I learned that you have to find a school that works with who you are as a person. The school has to feel right, otherwise you will not get everything out of the college experience that you need to. I also learned that when you visit a campus, you should ask about follow up visits, such as shadowing a current student, or what the classrooms are like. The number of things that I learned for the articles in the booklet are numerous, but listed above are the two that stuck out the most in my mind.

  15. I read the article on MOOC's and Iearned that are a great way to earn an education because you don't have to pay tuition for them. The downside of these online courses though is they don't accredit getting a degree.

  16. I learned that it matters how you are as a person when choosing a college because they have personalities. I also learned how important it is to research colleges and their majors before applying.

  17. I read "What can you do with a Computer Science Major", and I found out that the best computer programmers are not those who know how to write in some sort of coding language; this is the easy part of the career. The best coders are those who can think logically to be able to solve problem's in their work and for hypotheses on how to start working on given challenges.

  18. I learned about some really great ways to budget and use money wisely while in college and applying for college. I also learned that there are many things that we, graduating seniors, should be doing to prepare for college. It is easy to get caught or feel as if there is nothing to do. In those moments we have to realize that college is not cheap and we should be doing everything we can by applying for scholarships and grants. This includes me as well.

  19. Reading the articles, I learned that researching the colleges are very important because in one way or another a college has personality. I also learned that it's no time to begin being lazy, we need to finish filling out college applications and should began searching for grants, and scholarships. The application deadlines are right around the corner.

  20. I read the article about "maintaining healthy relationships in college", where it talked about was finding the appropriate voice to speak up about an issue that making you uncomfortable, without sounding controlling, demanding, or insecure. When you speak up about a situation, you will find that it makes things easier to come to a equal understanding or solution. Also, they talk about finding a balance in the levels of relationships you hold with people, whether it be friendship, romantic, or family relationship. When one of those things outweighs the other, people from each side become irritated and put all blame on you for not finding time to be with them. So its best to set a time and place for everyone and let them know that the relationship will not fade, they just have to be patient because you have to many things going on at once.

  21. Finding a college that fits is about finding a good college that meets all or most of my needs (location, majors, and extracurricular activities, etc. )
In the magazine, questions that are asked about college were there. Made me realize I wasn't the only one with these questions.

The article talked about "finding the fit" it said that finding the college that id perfect for you is not just that the campus is pretty, or that it has the sports that you like. One has to also consider the budget we have. Another thing that i learned was "figuring out financial aid" which includes FAFSA, scholarships.
