U. S. Senate Youth Scholarship
North Carolina’s United States Senators, Richard Burr and Kay Hagan, have announced that the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) has begun its statewide selection process. Information may be found at http://senateyouthnc.webs.com/. The United States Senate Youth Program is a scholarship program that provides an educa-tional opportunity for juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers in history, political science or public service. Two students will be selected as winning delegates for North Carolina and will spend a week in Washington, D.C., March 7-14, 2015, experiencing our national government in action. In addition, each delegate will also be awarded a $5,000 College Scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.
North Carolina applications are available and the application period will be open until October 12, 2014.
